Safety defects found in vehicles by manufacturers or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) are supposed to result in timely recalls of the defective vehicle or parts so as to prevent unneccessary harm to consumers. Unfortunately, many defects are not recalled and lives are unfortunately, needlessly forever changed through injury or death because defective motor vehicles remain on the road. If you are interested in learning more about the safety of your vehicle, you can access the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Office of Defects Investigation's website and search its databases or can view a list of the National Highway Traffic Safety's press releases about past recalls
