In Jackson, Mississippi, the family of Martha Burns initiated a wrongful death case against General Motors Corporation. Ms. Burns, an educator who was committed to children with disabilities and special needs, died in a one-car accident in Alabama about five years ago. Ms. Burns' family's lawyer claims that Ms. Burns died because and interior switch improperly opened the door when it was hit by moving luggage. General Motors Corporation claims that it is not responsible for Ms. Burns' death because it did not make the switch.

In 1964, Ms. Burns opened an educational facility in Jackson, Mississippi for children with disabilities and special needs.

Joye Law Firm, LLC, recently settled two wrongful death and product liability actions against General Motors Corporation involving rollovers in which the plaintiffs' claimed the roofs were defective.
